This design was inspired by the German novel "Der Skorpion (The Scorpion)"written by Anna Elisabet Weirauch. Der Skorpion was first published in 1919 and was one of the first German novels to depict lesbian love in a positive light. Promenade à Deux is the term used to refer to the mating ritual between two scorpions. This "walk for two" looks very much like dancing.
